Atelier & Co. is a company of designers based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn led by Richard Cameron and Jason Grimes. Working together since 2004, the pair has forged a unique position in the industry to run a full gamut of services from conceptual artistic direction and project consulting, to couture design services, intensely based in an appreciation for architecture in its purest sense.
Richard couples a broad knowledge of architectural history and practice with an inexhaustible curiosity about art and its broader context. He is the co-founder of both the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art and The Beaux-Arts Atelier, an educational platform for practicing architecture as a fine art. In 2013 he received The Arthur Ross Board of Directors Honor Award from the ICA&A. Richard has a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Toronto and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Architecture Magazine, Architectural Digest, and on the Brian Lehrer show.
Paintbrush in hand, Jason approaches design as an exploration calling on his many years studying form through oil, watercolor, pencil, ink, and clay. With a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Miami and years of experience in visual art, Jason provides Atelier & Co. a perfect blend of raw talent and design agility, and a practical, results-driven work ethic that gets the job done. His elegant illustrations and built work have appeared in publications including Architectural Digest, Period Homes, Lucky Magazine, and Women's Wear Daily, to name a few.
Atelier & Co. is also the proud recipient of several ICA&A awards celebrating dedication to classical tradition in design.
